Colour Tracking Owl
A colour tracking owl made from custom designed, 3d printed parts, with beautiful, autumnal, paper cut feathers, in collaboration with our good friend Owen Gildersleeve.
The Owl's internal chasis was designed from scratch, to house a state-of-the-art colour tracking system, electronic Arduino micro controller, servo motors, and roller bearings, using computer aided design software. We then 3d printed the parts in-house using a PLA bio-plastic material, which were then assembled and tested, before getting Owen involved to work his paper wizardry and give the Owl it's handsome appearance.
The Owl was part of the exhibition "Gehiem", an collection of works aiming to engage a younger audience with contemporary art, which was held at the MIK in Germany. Below is a short video that captures some of the magic of this fantastic show.
